Blackbeard's Ghost Drink Recipe

I've been searching to find a few Halloween Drink Recipes recently.  Here is one from drinknation.com called Blackbeard's Ghost.

• 1 oz. Rum, coconut
• 1 oz. Rum, dark
• 1 oz. Rum, light
• 1 oz. Grapefruit Juice
• 1 oz. Orange Juice
• 1 oz. Syrup, mango
• 1/4 oz. Molasses

Shake ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a highball glass over ice and garnish with a cherry.

Malibu Red Sweetheart - A fruity fantasy, ice-cold Malibu Red fused with grenadine.

This one is a shooter.

1 part Malibu Red (40ml)
1 bar spoon of grenadine (5ml)

Malibu Red Mexican Shooter

Shot of Malibu red, served chilled
Orange wedge
With or without cinnamon

Malibu Red - Cola Danger

The classic taste of Cola made even better with a shot of Malibu Red and a hit of lemon.

1 part Malibu Red (50ml)
2 parts cola (100ml)
1-2 lime wedges

Witch's Brew - Halloween Drink Recipe

Looking for some Halloween drink recipes, I came across this one called Witch's Brew on the Food Network's web site.

Witch's Brew

Here's what you'll need:

1 (6-ounce) package lime gelatin

2 cups boiling water

3 cups chilled pineapple juice

1 (2 liter) bottle chilled lemon-lime soft drink or ginger ale

2 cups chilled vodka

1 large black plastic cauldron

1 punch bowl that fits inside the cauldron

1 plastic hand, sterilized in hot water

1 block dry ice

Directions

Pour the gelatin mix into a large bowl. Slowly stir in the boiling water. Stir at least 2 minutes, until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Stir in the pineapple juice. Let cool to room temperature.

Wearing heavy duty gloves or using tongs, place the block of dry ice in the bottom of the cauldron. (Dry ice will burn skin, so handle it with gloves and tong. Keep away from kids and pets!)
Use an ice pick to break the block into smaller chunks, if necessary.

Fill the cauldron with just enough water to cover the dry ice. It will begin to "steam."
Place the punch bowl inside the cauldron, on top of the dry ice. The cauldron will appear to be magically smoking.

Entrap the sterilized rubber hand between the cauldron and the punch bowl, squeezing it tight so the hand appears to be reaching out of the mist for help. Hot-glue the hand to the cauldron, if necessary, to hold it in place.

Carefully pour the drink mixture into the punch bowl. Slowly add the chilled vodka and lemon-lime soda or ginger ale. Stir gently to mix.

Different kind of Maker's Mark Recipe

This recipe just tricked my trigger, and even though it is out of the norm for "Drink Recipes for You", I thought I would share....

Maker's Mark Cocktail Sauce

Makes 1-1/2 cups

2 tablespoons Maker’s Mark® Bourbon, flamed off
1 cup Heinz® Ketchup
1 tablespoon TABASCO® Sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup freshly grated horseradish
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar

Combine all ingredients together in a small bowl. Keep chilled until ready to serve.

Buttered Popcorn Flavored Vodka

Yes, you read me right, I said Buttered Popcorn Flavored Vodka. I know this sounds like one of those Southern Fairy Tales, which starts out with the words "Y'all aint gonna believe this".  And just like most Southern Fairy Tales, it is true.

360 Vodka has come out with a new flavor called Buttered Popcorn Flavored Vodka.  And now, you've got be wondering what kind of drink recipes they have in store.  So, straight from 360 Vodka's web site, here are a few drink recipes for you!

First, a couple of cocktails:

Caramel Corn Collins

1.5 oz 360 Buttered Popcorn
.5 oz Caramel Sauce
Combine vodka and caramel in mixing glass filled with ice. Strain into collins glass with fresh ice, top with root beer.

Night at the Movies

1.5 oz. 360 Buttered Popcorn
Cola
Add ice, top with cola, garnish with a lime wedge and popcorn on top.

And of course, the shooter:

 

Kettle Corn

1 oz 360 Buttered Popcorn
Rim shot glass with salt and sugar mixed rimmer. Shake with ice and stain into a shot glass. Salt and sugar rim (1/3 salt and 2/3 sugar).

Kentucky Bourbon Festival Official Drink Recipe

Hope some of you are considering attending the Kentucky Bourbon Festival in Bardstown Kentucky.  The dates are September 11th thru September 16th this year. 

The official drink of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival this year is "Strawberry Fields" by Makers Mark.

Here is the drink recipe for you:

Strawberry Fields Recipe

2 oz. Makers’s Mark
1 oz. Strawberry Syrup
1 oz. Dolin Blanc Vermouth
.25 oz. Bonal Aperitif Wine

Drink is to be stirred – not shaken.
Serve up in a martini glass.
Garnish with strawberry & mint sprig.

Hpnotiq Drink Recipes

Whether you are using the original Hpnotiq, or Hpnotiq Harmonie, there's certainly a drink recipe for most everyone.

Here are a few from Hpnotiq's web site....

Hypnotiq Margarita

1-1/2 ounce Hpnotiq Harmonie
1/2 ounce Premiun White Tequila
1/2 ounce Triple Sec

Shake ingredients and pour over ice in a margarita glass.  Garnish with a lime wheel.

Purple Rain  (Reminds me of the 80's song by Prince.)

4 ounces of Hpnotiq Harmonie
Splash of lemon lime or club soda.

Serve over ice in your favorite martini glass.

Blue Crush - Being the huge blueberry fan that I am, this one sounds delish!

2 ounces Hpnotiq
1 ounce Premium Blueberry Vodka
Splash of lemonade.

Mix Hpnotiq and your choice brand Blueberry Vodka.  Add lemonade to taste.  Garnish with fresh blueberries and mint.

And of course, there's also a mojito drink recipe using the Hpnotiq Harmonie....

Hpnotiq Mojito

2 ounces Hpnotiq Harmonie
1 ounce Premium White Rum
1 ounce lime juice
4-6 mint leaves

Shake ingredients together.  Pour over ice, stir, and serve in a highball glass.
