Blue Curacao Drink Recipes

Blue Curacao is naturally clear, but often colored blue with food colorant. It gets its flavor from the laraha citrus fruit, grown on the Curacao islands.

Both Hiram Walker and DeKuyper make an inexpensive and easy to find Blue Curacao.

I have found a few Blue Curacao drink recipes on each of their sites.

Blue Lagoon

Ingredients:

• 1/4 part Blue Curacao
• 1 part vodka
• 1 part pineapple juice

Directions:
Pour Blue Curacao, vodka and pineapple juice in a blend filled with ice and blend well. Serve in your favorite daiquiri glass and garnish with a wedge of pineapple.

Blue Hawaiian

Ingredients:

• 2 parts Malibu Coconut
• 2 parts pineapple juice
• 1 part Blue Curacao

Directions:
Pour Malibu Coconut, pineapple juice and Blue Curacao into a shaker filled with ice and shake well.  Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a small slice of pineapple.

Pineapple Paradise (when shaken vigorously, called the Tidal Wave)

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 parts Malibu Coconut
• 3/4 part pineapple juice
• Splash of Blue Curacao
• Splash of Coconut Cream

Directions:
Pour Malibu Coconut, pineapple juice, Blue Curacao, and Coconut cream into a shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a wedge of pineapple.

Blue Mango Breeze

Ingredients:

• 1 part Cruzan Mango Rum
• 1 part pineapple juice
• 1 part soda water
• Splash of Blue Curacao
• Sugar for the rim

Directions:
Rim a rocks glass with sugar and add ice. Pour Cruzan Mango Rum, pineapple juice and Blue Curacao in a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into prepared rocks glass. Top with soda water and stir.

Icy Mint Snowball

Ingredients:

• 1 part JDK & Sons Crave Chocolate Mint Liqueur
• 1 part DeKuyper Strawberry Patch Schnapps
• 1 part DeKuyper Blue Curacao
• fine crushed ice

Directions:
Mound fine crushed ice into a cocktail glass using a large ice cream scoop. Pour each ingredient, one by one, in stripes to create a horizontal layering of the ingredients over the crushed ice.

Sweet Talker-Tini

Ingredients:

• 1 part Pucker Berry Fusion Schnapps
• 2 parts Raspberry flavored Pinnacle Vodka
• 1 part DeKuyper Blue Curacao
• Squeeze of Lime

Directions:
Pour Pucker Berry Fusion Schnapps, Raspberry flavored Pinnacle Vodka, DeKuyper Blue Curacao and squeeze of lime into a shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass.

Green Haze

Ingredients:

• 1/2 part Cruzan® Dark Rum
• 1/2 part DeKuyper® Blue Curacao Liqueur
• 1/2 part Cruzan® Coconut Rum
• 1/2 part Midori® Melon Liqueur
• 4 parts Pineapple Juice
• Splash Sweet & Sour 

Directions:
Build over ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into a shot glass.


This is a drink recipe that I altered a little bit for taste.

Electric Lemonade

 

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 ounces vodka
• 1/2 ounce Blue Curacao
• 2 ounces lemonade
• 4 ounces Sprite
• lemon slice

Directions:
Build in your favorite tall glass over ice and stir. Garnish with a lemon slice.
