Grated Lime Zest and Watermelon Spear for Garnish

Directions:

Add all the ingredients into a (highball) glass and stir with a bar spoon.

Garnish with grated lime zest and watermelon spear.

I really like the twist of the watermelon spear that this barkeep uses in his ranch water drink recipe.

I consider Ranch Water to be a healthy choice, as far as cocktails go, at least.

My favorite is what I consider to be the original Ranch Water Drink Recipe.

Asphalt Road Shot Recipe

I had never heard of the Asphalt Road shot, until I seen it on this lime juice tag from Pompeii Juices.

Being a fan of Irish Cream, this one definitely sounds interesting.

Ingredients:
1 part Pompeii Lime Juice
1 part Irish Cream
1 part Vodka

Directions:
Mix and shoot right away!

Kamakazie Shot Recipe

The Kamakazie Shot likely originated in the 1970's, however it gained it's popularity in the 1980's.

Although, we of course, know that the original term kamikazie referred to the Japanese suicidal pilots from World War II.

Without further ado from Pomeii Juices, here is the Kamakazie Shot drink recipe for you....

Ingredients:

1 part Pompeii Lime Juice

1 part vodka

1 part Triple Sec

Directions:

Shake well with ice and strain mixture into a shot glass.

Moscow Mule Drink Recipe

Pompeii Juices included a few drink recipes on their lime juice.

Ingredients:
6 ounces Ginger Beer
1 part vodka
2 parts Pompeii Lime Juice
Ice

Instructions:
Combine ingredients "on the rocks" in a chilled copper mug or chilled glass.
Garnish with a lime slice and/or mint.

Raspberry Mar-Tea-ni

Earlier, I promised to share some non-alcoholic or mocktail recipes for you.

Here is  one from Coca-Cola, that is made with their Gold Peak tea product.

It's called a Raspberry Mar-Tea-ni.

Ingredients:

1 ounce of Gold Peak California Raspberry Tea syrup

3/4 ounce lemon juice

3 ounces Ginger Beer

raspberries, for garnish

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir.

Strain into a martini glass.

Garnish with raspberries.

Directions for making Gold Peak California Raspberry Tea Syrup Recipe:

Combine 1/2 cup of Gold Peak California Raspberry tea with 1/2 cup of sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.  Bring to a low boil.  Remove from heat.  Let cool and transfer to a glass container.

The Cup of Life also has directions on making a tea simple syrup.  You could perhaps use your imagination and make this with raspberries and make the recipe your own.

Enjoy your mocktail!

Spicy Salty Ranch Water

Ranch Water recipes have been popping up a lot here lately.

This one showed up in my Better Homes and Gardens magazine.  I'm sure I know a couple of people who would enjoy this.

Spicy Salty Ranch Water

Ingredients:

2 jalapeños (1 thinly sliced, 1 frozen)

1 12-ounce glass bottle Top Chico, very well chilled

2 ounces blanco tequila, very well chilled

1 lime (2 tablespoons juice)

Pinch of sea salt

Lime wedge

Tajin, for garnish

Directions:

Grate frozen jalapeño onto cutting board.

Add tequila, lime juice, pinch of salt, a few slices of jalapeño, and some of the grated jalapeño to a glass of Topo Chico.

Use a lime wedge to wet the glass rim.

Sprinkle with Tajin.

For those who like their margaritas with a zing, I think you will like this ranch water recipe as well.

Enjoy, and please remember to drink responsibly!

Ranch Water Drink Recipe

Southern Living  came out with an article on May 19th, 2025 stating "Meet your new favorite cocktail".

I hate to tell them, but it's been mine for a year and a half now.  Glad they've caught up.

Here's my version of Ranch Water.

Ingredients:

1 ounce your favorite tequila

3/4 ounce lime juice (fresh squeezed lime is best)

4 ounces of seltzer water

ice

Directions:

Fill tall glass with ice.

Add tequila, lime juice and seltzer water, in that order.

Stir lightly.

I usually use the Polar brand of seltzer water.  However, I was only a few cents shy of getting free shipping on Amazon, so I added this 1L bottle of Happy Belly Seltzer Sparkling water.  It is so bubbly, it's great!

Back to Southern Living, and their "Best Texas Ranch Water" recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz. blanco tequila, such as Espolon or Casamigos (about 2 shots)

  • 1 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice (about 1 shot)

  • Topo Chico, chilled

  • Fresh lime wedge for garnish

Directions

  1. Add ice to glass:

Fill a rocks glass with ice—really, whatever glass you have on hand is fine.

  2. Add tequila and juice:

Add tequila and fresh lime juice to glass with ice.

  3. Add sparkling water:

Top with Topo Chico. Add fresh lime wedge to the rim of the glass. Enjoy!

  4. As you notice, it's pretty close to the way I've made it with a little more tequila.

  5. Enjoy and please remember to drink responsibly!
